Paid Search (PPC/SEM) Strategist

A PPC Strategist is at the helm of the delivery and execution for client success


The ideal candidate will have exceptional project and time management skills and thrives under pressure. You’ll work on multiple client projects with our acclaimed Retail Search Managers and help them to develop AND execute a customized strategy that delivers bottom-line value to the client. You’ll have a deep understanding of PPC best practices, 3rd-party bidding platforms and web analytics – using robust data to capitalize on existing opportunities, uncover new ones and tell a story that drives client value.


Duties Include

  • Support Account Managers in delivering client success
  • Help solve complex problems & develop a strategic channel marketing plan with meaningful KPIs
  • Keyword and audience-level bid optimizations
  • Develop a strategy for testing & measuring ad variations at scale
  • Collaborate with various team members to ensure the client achieves their objectives
  • Communicate the results of ongoing tests & optimizations to Account Managers
  • Conduct campaign experiments that drive bottom-line revenue growth
  • Evaluate and act on changes in the competitive landscape for multiple clients
  • Identify & execute on new channel opportunities unveiled in nuanced web analytics data
  • Develop dashboards, reporting, analysis & actionable optimization recommendations
  • Leverage 3rd party tools and automated rules to deliver better results, faster
  • Create in-house processes that uncover meaningful metrics efficiently across campaigns
  • Continual knowledge sharing of industry trends across the team and clients
  • Contribute to the CPC Strategy blog and industry forums regularly


Who We’re Looking For

  • 1-3 years experience in Paid Search marketing (client-facing experience a plus)
  • Experience working at an agency (bonus points)
  • Advanced knowledge of PPC and performance statistics
  • Strong ability to make actionable decisions based on data from search engines, web analytics platforms, & internal data
  • Ability to construct a compelling narrative from analysis of data
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills, especially Excel
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, communication & presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task with solid time management skills
  • Desire to continuously learn and perfect your craft
  • Leverage 3rd party tools and automated rules to deliver better results, faster
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, open & entrepreneurial environment
  • Able to work on-site at our San Diego office
