Bing Shopping = Bing Shopping.com - CPC Strategy

Bing is going to integrate Shopping.com listings into their existing Bing Shopping results. This is a big win for Shopping.com as Bing instantly becomes their largest co-brand. For Bing, this should improve the quality of the search experience for their users by dramatically increasing the amount of seller data.

For sellers it's going to be interesting to see how much exposure Bing gives to these new paid listings and we will have more updates once the integration goes live (in early October).

Both Bing and Shopping.com sent out an email earlier today announcing their new partnership and here is the full email from Bing:

Dear Merchant,

Bing Shopping is committed to being the best starting point for people that want to make informed decisions and complete shopping related tasks. In that spirit, we are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Shopping.com that enhances our existing merchant listing program.

With this new partnership we are making the following changes to benefit you and the Bing shopper:

1.       Higher visibility: Paid offers will be highlighted throughout Bing Shopping, including search result and product pages. Look for additional visibility, such as exposure within Bing’s editorial content and rich product ad placements in the near future. We are prioritizing offers ingested from Shopping.com for these new opportunities.

2.       Quality experience: Better data helps power a richer and more engaging experience for all of our users. We are leveraging Shopping.com’s unified product and offer data to deliver the highest quality customer experience while continuing to maximize selection through our existing program.

3.       Efficiency: You will now be able to manage your feeds using Shopping.com’s industry-leading tools across Bing Shopping and the Shopping.com network.

    Hi Jenny,

    Shopping.com are powering the featured placements within the Bing Shopping.com platform. These clicks will be deducted from the Shopping.com Merchant Account balance at our Value Based Pricing CPC rate card.

    You will still furnish your Bing feed for their free listings, but that datafeed will not power the paid listings located at the top.
