Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. is washing its hands clean of Shopzilla, selling all outstanding shares to Symphony Technology Group for $165M.


The transition from a lifestyle media company to a private equity firm that focuses on technology and engineering services will hopefully spark innovation and growth after what seemed like years of stagnation for Shopzilla.


Shopzilla ranked 3rd overall in CPC Strategy’s Comparison Shopping Engine Rankings for the first quarter of 2011.  Shopzilla is already a big asset to merchants’ comparison shopping portfolios so we’re excited to see what this new partnership means for both Shopzilla and its merchants alike.
